Sinfully Delicious – Artistic Tile’s
NEW Chocolate
Stone Borders
From Italian Artist Giovanni Barbieri
NEW YORK, NY, May, 2008 - Indulge your taste for something sweet with
Artistic Tile’s delicious new Barbieri Chocolate Stone Border
Collection.
Designed by renowned Italian artist Giovanni Barbieri exclusively for
Artistic Tile, the luxurious line features unique stone “dots” reminiscent
of confectionary treats in a variety of patterns and savory shades in
three color stories: Caramel, Dark, and White. Nancy Epstein,
Artistic Tile founder, CEO and principal product designer, says, “These
tile dots are simply irresistible and the perfect accent for the home. You
can use them as borders or individually in the kitchen, bath, or anywhere
that calls for an extra spark. There’s nothing like them
in the market today.”
Each piece is hand-worked blending natural limestone, marble, and onyx
together to form a dollop of eye-candy. The Chocolate Stone Border
Collection offers six separate patterns of cushioned 2” x 2” dots
in each of the three color categories. Sold as a set of six squares
on a 2” x 12” mesh-backed border, the tiles are available
in their natural state or finished with an enhancer for a glossier effect. These
delicacies will be sold in Artistic Tile’s beautiful showrooms
and in over 100 high-end tile and stone showrooms nationwide.

About Giovanni Barbieri
Headquartered in Northern Italy, the Barbieri family
has been in the marble floor manufacturing field since 1974. Giovanni
Barbieri is most noted for the creation of a new finishing technique
called “Marmo Antico Lucido,” which almost perfectly reproduces
the surfaces of elegant aged floors. Inspired by the original
marble floors in Venice, which have been worn by usage and time, his
patented, ecological process delivers the most realistic and ancient-looking
results with respect to the environment thanks to the maximum usage
of the raw material with minimum waste. The procedure consumes
the weakest parts of the marble and allows for subsequent polishing. This
gives an “aged” but glossy marble with a wavy but not opaque
surface, faithfully reproducing the effects of buffing and ware without
losing brightness. The matte finish (vs. polished) is recommended
for achieving the most realistic look, especially when it’s compared
to a real aged floor. The technique is offered in a variety of
marbles, including Bianco Antico, Bianco Carrara, Botticino, and Giallo
Reale, among others, and in custom cuts. Most recently, Barbieri
has been developing a new series of medallions and borders. All
Barbieri products are distributed exclusively through Artistic Tile
in the United States.
